History of The Comforter’s Hope Welfare Association (TCH)

The Comforter’s Hope Welfare Association was founded 27 years ago by the late Mr Jonah and his wife Pastor Esther Jonah, whose lifelong passion has been to serve those in need. As educators, they witnessed firsthand the challenges underprivileged children face, particularly in accessing education and a safe, nurturing environment. Her vision was to create a haven where orphans, children and single mothers from disadvantaged families, and the elderly could find refuge, support, and hope.

Their commitment grew into The Comforter’s Hope (TCH), a home and learning center that embodies her belief in love, education, and care for the vulnerable. Her journey from educator to founder and, ultimately, Pastor at Soaring Eagles Nest reflects her dedication to uplifting lives and spreading hope.

TCH was officially registered as a charity with the Registrar of Society in 2016, with approval granted in September 2017. Over the years, it has expanded its reach and impact, providing holistic care for its residents.

About Our Founders

Pastor Esther Jonah and her late husband, Mr. Jonah, co-founded The Comforter’s Hope Welfare Association, inspired by their growing passion and burden to help the underprivileged. As they ran a school together, Mr. Jonah, as the principal, not only focused on educating his students but also provided transportation to ensure they could attend. The longer they ran the school, the more their hearts were filled with compassion and a deep desire to meet the needs of those less fortunate. Their faith played a pivotal role in this journey, guiding them to create a safe, nurturing environment for underprivileged children and the elderly. Pastor Esther, with her background as a teacher, and Mr. Jonah, with his commitment to community, worked tirelessly to build a home that would provide not just education but also care, love, and hope. Despite the challenges they faced, their passion and faith remained unwavering, leading to the lasting legacy of The Comforter’s Hope. Today, Pastor Esther continues to honor her late husband’s memory, ensuring that their vision of love and compassion is carried forward through the welfare association.
